The Restaurant
1840’s Whaling Bar-Downstairs being kept similar to what it was very
important to us. The rustic brick, wooden beams and darkly stained furniture
gives the feeling of the olden day. The two fireplaces and the low ceilings
complete the décor and the feeling of “I don’t want to get
up” coziness. The new bar downstairs will give the ability of The Old
Brotherhood the quintessential meeting place.
Upstairs-A Walk Through Nantucket History-Upstairs will have five separate
dining areas with many options for groups of all sizes as well as a new bar
overlooking Broad Street. The focal point of the new bar will be the handcrafted
solid cherry bar as well as the historical tour that will be presented on the
wall. The upstairs will have a lighter feeling from downstairs while at the
same time having a historic character. One of these small rooms will have its
own fireplace and will be called “The Sisterhood” in honor of the
many women that have historical significance o the island. This room not only
can be used by the general public but eventually will be used to host special
events such as book signings and afternoon tea.
Outdoor Patio and Bar-Open mid–May through mid-October the Patio will
add one more dimension to the old Brotherhood. The entire food menu will be
offered on the patio with a slightly altered beverage menu geared more toward
the “Fun in the Sun” attitude.
